Listed below are some quintessential Toronto neighbourhoods, museums, parks and attractions to enjoy during your visit to the city!

Great place for food, coffee, wandering, vintage shopping, and eclectic vibes. A true Toronto gem. Adjacent to Chinatown where you can find excellent meals.

Kensington Market

Great place to wander and grab delicious groceries or a quick bite at one of the food stalls.

St. Lawrence Market

Art Gallery of Ontario

Royal Ontario Museum

A wonderfully quirky way to spend a couple of hours.

Bata Shoe Museum

Take a coffee or a picnic and watch all the cool kids. There are coffee shops, bakeries, and a few shops on the Queen Street West side. Lots of independent shops if you wander slightly further west on the Dundas Street West Side.

Trinity Bellwoods Park 

Nice walking trails and picnic spots, great playground and zoo for kids. Walking distance from the west end neighbourhoods listed here.

High Park

Take a shuttle from Broadview Station (TTC) or walk there from Castle Frank Station (TTC) via the leafy Don Valley (directions and maps are on their website). The best time to visit is Saturday during the Farmer’s Market from 9am - 1pm.

Evergreen Brick Works

Roncesvalles avenue between Dundas Street West and Queen Street West is lovely for independent shops, cafes, and restaurants. Walking distance to High Park if you want to picnic before or afterwards. You can also wander east on Dundas Street West towards Ossington Ave. for more shops and restaurants.

West End Neighbourhoods: Roncesvalles and Dundas West

Toronto’s Eastern Beaches - wander the boardwalk with ice cream or a coffee. Walking through The Beaches neighborhood is nice too! Danforth is known as Greektown and Leslieville has lots of independent shops and cafes.

East End Neighbourhoods: Beaches, Danforth, and Leslieville

Visit the Toronto Islands via ferry from the Jack Layton Ferry Terminal - take a picnic, ride a bicycle built for two!

Toronto Islands

Historic district with lots of shops, cafes, galleries, and restaurants. Nice place to wander. Make sure to check out Soma for excellent made in Toronto chocolate and gelato.

Distillery District 

Man-made urban beach where you can lounge by the water. Great spot if you're in the core and need a little break from the urban-ness of it all. There is a grocery store a few blocks up if you're in need of a snack.

Sugar Beach

This is a little off the beaten path (i.e. not anywhere near downtown Toronto) but is a stunning beach with adjacent parks and trails.

Scarborough Bluffs

Indoor botanical garden with five greenhouses- a nice little stop if you are in the east end of the city and its a cold and/or rainy day.

Allan Gardens Conservatory

Great place to watch first-run documentary films. Head west on Bloor Street before or afterwards for a great meal in Koreatown.
